Dell has just launched two new colour laser multifunction printers, the 1235cn and 2145cn, which are available now.
The 1235cn is an entry level colour MFP, with fax capability as standard and a small footprint of just 415mm x 373mm, making it ideal for the home or small office. The front USB port means that users can scan and print directly from USB flash drives and the SmarThru Office scan application allows the creation of digital archives for added versatility. Print resolution is up to 2400 x 600dpi and, while scan resolution is up to 1200 x 1200 dpi; together with the colour fax functionality this allows users to create a variety of quality colour documentation.
The 1235cn will print in mono at up to 16ppm and colour at up to 4ppm and is very quiet, so won’t unduly disturb users who have it on their desk. As an added bonus, many buyers will be impressed by the sleek, attractive styling which gives the 1235cn an edge over many of its competitors.
Further up the range is the 2145cn with print speeds of 20ppm in colour and mono and duplex print, copy and scan as standard. The 2145cn boasts the same quality output as the 1235cn but is designed to handle heavier workloads, with a monthly duty cycle of up to 65,000 pages.
LDAP support enables easy to use scan-to-email functionality, effortless collaboration is possible across an office network and a range of files can be scanned and printed directly to and from a thumb drive via the front USB port. Both printers are Energy Star compliant and use toner cartridges which can be returned to Dell for recycling, while the 2145cn also incorporates Dell’s N-Up feature, which allows multiple pages to be printed on one sheet of paper.
As with all Dell printers, 2 year’s warranty come as standard and Dell will replace the fuser units free of charge for the period of the warranty.
