Epson Increases Consumable Prices

From the Printware Blog on Friday 1st May 2009 in News

Continuing the recent trend of price increases, Epson has just announced that it will be raising the cost of its inks as of June 1st. This follows similar announcements in recent weeks by Brother, Ricoh and Canon and continues the pattern of rises as predicted in our recent article, Toner Prices Continue to Rise.

We have not received confirmation of the new prices from Epson but rises are expected to be around 9% for most inks and over 17% for SP-11880 inks. Epson have cited the continuing weakening of the pound against the euro as the reason for the increases.

There is no sign that prices are likely to stabilise in the near future and further increases are expected across the board in May. Prices can, and unfortunately do, go up at a moment’s notice so the price you’re quoted today may not be the price you pay tomorrow. Our advice is to take advantage of great deals, low prices or special offers straight away – don’t wait and risk disappointment.
