Canon Announces Price Increases for July

From the Printware Blog on Monday 15th June 2009 in News

We have learned that Canon will be increasing the cost of the hardware and consumables again, as of July 13th. This comes in the wake of several increases in recent months from Canon and other printer manufacturers, as discussed in our previous article, Toner Prices Continue to Rise. Fluctuations in the value of sterling against the yen and the euro are being blamed for increased costs, which are continuing to up drive prices for consumers.

Canon has not released a new price list yet but product lines are expected to increase by the following amounts:

  • Inks – 5%
  • Maintenance tanks – 10%
  • Printers – up to 9%
  • Stands – 25%

With the current economic situation and uncertainty about the pound set to continue, it seems inevitable that these rises will continue and that other manufacturers will join Canon in announcing further increases in the near future.
