Kyocera has just made wireless and cloud printing easier on its ECOSYS range. As of August 1st, four additional printers in its mono range now support Apple AirPrint and Kyocera has just launched Cloud Connect, which allows cloud printing and scanning from compatible MFPs.
AirPrint support has been extended to support the ECOSYS FS-2100DN, FS-4100DN, FS-4200DN and FS-4300DN. This means that you can now print to your ECOSYS printer directly from your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch. If you already have one of these printers, you will still be able to take advantage of the upgrade, simply by updating the firmware on your printer.
As we discussed in our recent articles, The Rise of BYOD and Get Your Business Ready for BYOD, an increasing number of people are using their own mobile devices at work and this is fast becoming standard practice. Kyocera’s extension of AirPrint support makes it that much easier for companies who have, or want to introduce, a BYOD policy.
Kyocera has also launched a new application called Cloud Connect, which enables you to scan to, or print from, the cloud via Evernote or Google Drive. Simply download the Cloud Connect app for free and log in from a compatible MFP. You can then browse your files, print documents or scan and save them to Google Drive or Evernote.
Sharing information is quick and simple with Cloud Connect as you can convert a document to electronic format, then share it with multiple users in remote locations simultaneously. Documents are truly portable, too, as you can print from anywhere, providing you have access to a compatible MFP.
The extension of AirPrint support and the launch of Cloud Connect make it easier for businesses to take an integrated approach to print and document management. Allowing employees to use their own mobile devices at work is having tangible benefits for many businesses, whilst moving applications to the cloud reduces the need for a costly, high maintenance IT infrastructure.
