Never let me down yet and the toner cartridges appear to last quite well. Very well built and able to withstand variable conditions (cold, hot, damp) considerably better than the previus Epson could. Would recommend to others for SME's.

Good but expensive |

This is a great little printer but it could be even better. Xerox chose to make it 600dpi only, which eats toner at an alarming rate.
I replaced my previous Epson printer when the cost of repairs exceeded the price of a new printer and the 6820 looked a good buy. I've already spent 3 times the cost of the printer in replacement toner cartridges in just over 8000 (eight thousand) sheets.
Reliable and quality print but expensive.

A reliable printer that suits my small office needs perfectly. My only bugbear is the tortuous process of installing it on Windows XP but that's probably a weakness of that OS rather than the printer drivers.

I've had my Xerox Phaser 6280N for nearly a year and have been very pleased with it. The only downsides are the price of the replacement toner cartridges which I knew when I bought it.

Installed on our home network without fuss. Prints quickly and well from XP, Vista and Windows 7.
Zero miss-feeds to date but toners supplied in the printer are running out already at 2150 copies. Hoping replacements last a bit longer

Phaser too complex and unreliable |

Problems since new - poor customer service at Xerox - too many repeat emails. Postscript driver did not work and needed replacing with downloaded PCL legacy driver - too technical and comlex. Problems with paper pick-up and 3 site visits by engineers have not sorted it. Fast, accurate printing, but cannot recommend this as too unreliable.

I purchased this printer in July 2009 and have been absolutely delighted with its performance. Extremely easy to use, excellent rendering of colour jpeg prints, and reliable double-sided printing. Also, the cartridges are a doddle to replace. Very good value for money.

print great, performance poor |

A few teathing problems with the electronics wer equickly solved by the engineer, by pretty much replacing all the printed circuits. The printer then developed a problem with 'jams' - it can't manage more than about 10 sheets without a jam occuring in the paper tray. A shame as the print quality and duplexer are superb.

Compact printer with high quality sharp output. Surprised how long cartridges have lasted even after the "replacement soon" warning. No problems in the 6 months or so that I have had the printer.
Excellent re-cycling service for cartridges.

My first colour laser - I wanted a trouble-free device for my small home-based business. Network setup is very flexible - I chose to assign a fixed IP - and the web interface is comprehensive and intuitive. Although the printer is connected by ethernet (it's not a wireless device) but my peer-to-peer network includes a wireless access point, any wirelessly connected notebook with the drivers installed can print on the Xerox remotely, which is a boon. The Phaser wakes from standby very quickly to produce beautifully sharp B&W and colour output, and prints quickly. It even prints photos very nicely, using a dithering process that is only apparent on very close inspection. The duplexer works perfectly, as does the envelope/single sheet feeder. A superb piece of kit!

After having used a Xanté CL30 for many years, the print quality and speed of the Xerox Phaser 6280 is incomparable: miles ahead, whether in B/W or colour, single or double sided. The only downside is the printing of envelopes, which I do quite often with SmartStamp. DL-size envelopes in particular always have their back ends crumpled up.

The printer is on the whole very good. I do feel that the toner is astronomical.
