Good print quality Two sided printing is reliable

Absolutely brilliant. The old Laser Jet 4m lasted ober 20 yrs - but finally decided it no longer wanted to do its job, and has been retired. The new one is mega - quick, duplex (FANTASTIC). It is a bit noisy - but that is not an issue. Wished I had purchased a wireless version - is it possible to add something to make this facility possible?

Great printer with very good print quality. Set up was a breeze under Ubuntu Linux. Must have taken all of a minute and the printer was correctly identified by the OS. Windows setup was more difficult. It took about 20 minutes to set up using the disk supplied but the end result was satisfactory.

This printer was bought to replace an HP Lasetjet 4L which had served us very well for many years, which is why I bought another HP. The installation of the new printer was very straightforward and the machine itself is what I had hoped for. Printing is very quick with no more than a few seconds warm-up time. The only problem I had was when I accidentally deleted the new printer instead of the old one and, when trying to add it again could not find the precise model in the list given. But I rang HP technical support and was given advice which enabled me to add the printer. I also had a call from HP some days later to check if the machine was working properly. One slight problem is that the diagram given on the booklet omits to explain the symbols on the top of the printer so I am a bit in the dark as far as those are concerned.

Great printer for a decent price.

The drivers that came with the product didn't work for XP Pro or Server 2003 and the drivers I tried on the HP website were also faulty. In the end after a day sat on help lines, pulling my hair out I got it working

Excellent - even better since I have found out how to change the print to permanent double sided paper. Fast but a bit noisy.
