Xerox MFP 8560 - A good solid comination machine - does what you expect it to do

We bought the 8560MFP DN to replace a Konica multifunction lazer and an older Xerox duplex lazer printer. We wanted more sophisticated scanning, multiple feed trays for varying print media & liked the idea of being more environmentally friendly (doing away with storing & throwing away toner cartridges). It does all of those things very well. I would not look to purchase differntly if we needed another printer. Not so good is, A) the Xerox foreign call centre, B) Our unit did not work on arrival as it still had factory build diagnostics bits in it so it showed error codes, C) the paper handling system is quite noisy when printing - We had to relocate it away from staff compared to the other two units we had. D)It costs more to run in electricity as it has to be always on and though it goes to sleep (to save power! ?- it then takes ages to warm up! Address these and it would be excellent! - Is overpriced compared to the straight 8560 printer without the MFP elements

Printer is absolutely amazing! So fast, So rich in colour, So quiet!

We had a problem a week in when the heater element died, but I can't praise Xerox enough. They fixed the problem in a matter of days and it's back up and running now. Been producing copy after copy of crisp text and images! FIVE STAR MACHINE!

Won't buy a Xerox again!

Upgraded to windows 7 and the first print from outlook using the Xerox universal print driver caused our 4 year old Xerox C2424MFP to reboot. After sending the document several times more it killed the printer. We needed a mfp straight away so replaced with the 8560MFP. On the first morning of use we also killed this printer sending document straight from outlook. It took the engineer over a week and three visits to fix it and before we could use it he made sure the bios was upgraded! It still miss-feeds sheets and then reboots when we send documents from outlook. Xerox’s engineer claims it's just a coincidence, but why then upgrade the bios before testing? I don’t trust this printer to carry on working past it’s 1 year guarantee now. It has also cost me three days of messing about and stress and we have over £400 of ink left for the old printer. Thanks Xerox. My three other printers are all Oki’s and still working fine even though all are over 6 years old. I know what to buy next time! Oh and it's supposed to be energy efficient but the scanner light stays on until the printer goes into sleep mode. How’s that really efficient?
