Already having a Canon inkjet (iP4300), which is excellent, and versatile, the Ix7000 was bought for its A3 capability. I rate Canon as providing good quality and reliability, plus their ink is better priced than most.
Three things are annoying:
Firstly: The Ip4300 powers-up when a print job is sent to it, and powers down soon afterwards - an obvious energy saving feature - but it's not available in the iX7000: why not?(Canon say 'it's designed for commercial users'. So what?.
Secondly: The ink level feature is a joke! From the time when a low ink warning appears, to the time when it runs out is more than half the life of the cartridge, so you can never be sure when it will actually need changing.
Thirdly: Photo paper can only be used from the rear tray, and plain paper only from the cassette - there doesn't seem to be any logical reason for this.
Finally - and hopefully this is temporary - ink cartridges are like hens teeth - very difficult to find.
Our Comment:
Thanks for your review. Some good points there, except for your comments on the inks of which we always have plenty in stock. Don’t tell us you’re looking elsewhere for the inks? We thought we had an agreement, we thought you loved us…
