The initial impressions of the Gelsprinter is that it provides high definition print that is more water resistant than inkjet and sits deeper into the paper fibres so cannot crack like laser. It is also cheaper to run than the latter and consumes much less power. No paper jams so far and found to produce fast prints, even in duplex. Good for general images and text but the matt finish makes it less satisfactory for photo prints. When running duplex it is necessary to turn up the ink density for deep image colours (which can be done from the PC). Not the most attractive looking of printers but has a nice control panel with good button layout and clear LCD screen.
