Lightening quick delivery and a very nice piece of mnachinery. My only niggle is that the driver disk which came packed wouldnt work on Vista, so I had to spend a few hours downloading the drivers before I could get it to work at all. I did email printware to see if more recent drivers were available but never had a response

Well priced multifunction that performs well. Not superfast, but OK for most uses, and very high quality results. Literature and cd-sourced manual are minimal, and none too helpful. Printer menu is also confusing and awkward to negotiate. But on balance, a good machine so far.

A good multi-function system, but not great for Macs |

A good, efficient mulit-function machine.
BUT, it is not user-friendly at all with a Mac system. I had to find and download a printer driver myself from the internet to get it working. The info said it was compatible, but the disc didn't load or work on my new Mac OS10.4 desktop and it was not easy to get it going. I had a real struggle to work it out for the Mac and get the machine going. The literature does not help at all in set-up for a Mac, so you have to learn as you go along.
My biggest gripe is that Canon are clearly not Mac friendly and don't make it easy for Mac users. I was expecting to load the CD and for installation to be a quick and simple step by step process. Not at all! Disappointing to say the least.
However, now that they printer is up and running it is working well and it is quick, provides good print/photocopy outputs. It has an energy saving function and a toner saver option, which are useful for saving money.

it's a great printer, but like so many things, they are Mac compatible, but not Mac friendly. No software provided in the box, the CD rom won't run either. After the moan Canon have a good download centre, and the machine now does everything i want it to. it is easy to use

Although this printer did not come with 64bit software (had to download)which was slightly strange as more and more windows software is now 64 bit. This was an easy to install printer. There a a few "quirkes" when using the scan function for the first time , but once you understand these they just become second nature, It is not the smallest of printer for Home use so if you are thinking about this just sheck the dimensions.
Having said all that it is a very good and fast printer, both at printing and scanning (this is superquick by comparison with my old HP). I have no regrets in buying it and would recommend it fully to anything thinking of an entry level Laser printer.
