Print quality for photos is truly excellent, exactly what I hoped for and at least as good as you would get from a high street developer. No problems experienced in spite of infrequent use (I use another printer for documents etc). Only criticism is need to check settings - a bit time consuming.

Epson R800 is fine, thanks for asking. It was a replacement for the same model that came to the end of its service life after 5 years.

The printer has performed very well. The photo output is extremely good, but at over £100 for a set of ink cartridges the running costs are high.

I bought this printer from Printware as a replacement for my old Epson R800 which had given me good service.
It produces high quality print-outs and if you want to print photos you wont go far wrong with it. The pics it produces are outstanding in every way: and are archival.
When i phoned Printware to check if they were in stock before I ordered online I got through straight away. The phone was answered by a really happy person which made my day. Delivery was prompt so I was pleased with my buying experience.

I already have this model and it's a gem of a printer! I decided to purchase the same model to keep for a spare although my original one is still going strong and I've had it for over a year and use it practically every day! I print onto card - lots of different weights - including 300gsm! I do a lot of borderless printing too (I do wedding stationery) which this printer can cope with at a reasonable speed. I don't do a lot of photographic printing but the colours I use in my designs are easy to match up using this printer!

Very disappointed with the R800. Does not like 290 gsm and above paper. Cannot print good black and white prints and CD printing is of poor quality.I like Epson products but not this one. Epson should bring back an updated version of the 810.
Our Comment:
Thanks for your review.
For the benefit of our other customers, please note that Epson state that this printer will print on paper up to 255gsm.

Epson R800 Printer |

Bought as replacement for an old faithful R800 which had given good service, but the paper feed rubber was getting very worn and inefficient and nozzles increasingly difficult to keep clear.
Think this printer benefits from having the nozzle check facility run once or twice a week to keep the nozzles clear, particularly the gloss optimiser which is not used so frequently.
I would say that if you don't need all the bells and whistles of the all-in-one printers and demand a high quality image output this printer is hard to beat and very well built.
