It stopped printing black after 15 months. I wish I had read the reviews before buying.

Excellent first colour laser printer for low volumes. Good paper handling and economical. N.B. I have no plans to replace it and will not welcome 'offers', I do not buy printers very often.

It's ok Richard - we're not going to spam you. Promise! Thanks very much for your comments.

Review Value for money trouble free printing

For the money this is a very high quality printer. Has a small & neat footprint and is trouble free even when not used for long periods of time unlike other types of printers. Easily handles small runs of leaflets and booklets and the colour quality exceded expectations. The only downside I've found is that when one colour runs out it doesn't let you print at all even in black and white, or at least I couldn't get it to print.

Unfortunately the paper management sucks bigtime. The upper weight limit is so low it cannot manage labels or anything but standard budget paper. Photographic? forget it.

Review Generally OK

Most of the time, the printer works fine and produces fairly good quality colour print-outs. However, I often have problems with the paper-feed and have to physically tip the printer backwards or push the paper to make it pick up properly.

Our Comment:

The paper issues should be easy to fix. Just call Tech Support on 0870 900 5501 and have your serial number ready.

Review Nice printer - BUT

Good printer, a bit clunky but for the price great. Unfortunately after 18 months just afetr the initial print cartridge ran out, like for many other customers it would seem, the imaging unit failed. It costs 20 more than a new printer. Absolute zero support from Xerox, just some third party warranty company trying to prove the guarantee didn't apply, so had to bin the whole printer. Incidentally, Xerox nominate just about every part except the case to be a consumable and therefore only guaranteed for 3 months. Its a fiddle. The imaging unit is supposed to last 20000 copies, but only lasted 1800 (less than a tenth). There is nothing much wrong with it, but the internal tubes got clogged up so no ink gets through - design fault. Avoid. Xerox want only your money and couldn't care less about their product or you.

We have used this printer from new and all i have had to do for maintenance is to replace the toner cartridges as they empty and the toner waste bottle when full. An excellent product for this price/print quality range.

Review Xerox 6110N

Xerox 6110N. Although this is a little slow on colour print, the quality of colour print is excellent for a home office and small business. The speed has never been an issue for me. Toner replacement is expensive. Mono printing is much quicker and of good quality. However, a few months after purchase, and with below average use, the imaging unit failed causing poor mono quality. The good news was that Xerox sent a replacement imaging unit immediately when contacted. It seems this is a common fault with this printer model. (I will not be surprised if this imaging unit fails too at some point.) One of the reasons for choosing this printer was being network ready, and the printer is easy to add to a network, enabling printing from all our computers. Plug and play, sets itself up with included s/w. Overall, despite the imaging unit problem, I am very pleased with this printer. It was cheap, so it'll be hard to be 'green' when the toners have all gone, or when the imager fails as I'll probably just buy another printer - it's cheaper than the consumables.

Our Comment:

Ouch! If there is anything that we can do to help save the life of this poor little printer then we will. Please call us first! Thanks a lot for your review.

Review Very bad

The imaging unit of this printer has to be replaced after 2000 copies, and costs like a new printer. No warranty for it. Xerox just wants your money. Avoid - avoid - avoid.

Our Comment:

Not sure if you've just mis-typed but the imaging unit should last around 20,000 pages. If your imaging unit only lasted 2,000 pages then Xerox should have replaced it under the warranty of the printer. If you're ever in doubt about what's covered under the printer warranty and what's not, call us to get things cleared up.

Review Annoyed!

Bought this printer over a year ago now. Same as the other reviewers, I loved it at first, however after spending a small fortune on toners (none of which lasted as long as advertised) and battling with paper jams, I've had enough. Final straw came today when the damn thing jammed at the back where the fuser roller is (impossible to unjam without taking the whole printer apart) ... though probably did me a favour, I was getting horrible vertical fading down the middle of every page and tried everything to solve it to no avail! And my poor daughter had to witness me 'losing it' ... couldn't stop myself from giving it a good kick! Tomorrow it's getting the sledge hammer treatment ... it's going to be ceremoniously placed on the drive and battered into pieces no bigger than a postage stamp! And just what I needed 6 weeks from Xmas ... thanks Xerox. Thanks a bunch for such poor design. There's CHEAP and there's INEXPENSIVE, and a whole world of difference between them ... and this is not the latter. DO NOT BUY, even if it's the only printer on the planet. (Anyone wanna buy some spare 6110 toner cartridges?) :(

hopeless printer - slow when it worked, common fault faded and banding black even with new toners. Manufacturers should be ashamed of themselves. In the bin, best place for it. Lucky to get 1500 sheets out of it.
