Canon MP990 PIXMA All in One Printer

This is Canon’s top of the range inkjet multifunction printer, the Canon MP990 Pixma printer. The Canon MP990 is aimed at home users and professional photographers who want an all in one that’s fully loaded with useful features. These features include an automatic duplexer for double sided printing and direct CD/DVD printing.

The Canon MP990 is an attractive looking, solid device coloured silver with a black trim. It has an outstanding LCD panel on the front that needs to be pulled up into position. Once this is done you will see a nice bright and very clear 9.5cm display, the printer’s buttons and an easy scroll wheel.

The memory card slots on the Canon MP990 are hidden in a protected door on the lower right side of the printer preventing them from getting damaged by dust and dirt. Below the panel is a USB port for connecting USB sticks or PictBridge enabled cameras.

The setup process of the Canon MP990 makes connecting to a wireless network straightforward. To connect you rotate the easy scroll wheel to utilities then select wireless setup and following the instructions given.

I'm a big fan of Canon products, and the MP990 has done nothing to make me change my feelings. I purchased this to replace a Canon i965 that was simply worn out! I also wanted to have a multi-function device in order to save space.

I'm a keen and demanding amateur photographer; print quality is significantly better than any previous Canon, and I've been using them for more than 20 years.

I wasn't expecting negative scanning, which this device offers, to be of great quality, but it's good enough to have encouraged me to dig out my 35mm files and pick the best ones out to share on line.

One small weakness of Canon (and others) has been the supplied utility software, but actually it's pretty good. All in all, I unreservedly recommend this printer.
