The MP970 is a very versatile printer/copier/scanner producing excellent quality documents and photographs. You can even scan-in colour slides and make CD labels. On the downside, ink is expensive if you buy Canon originals.

Our Comment:

This is where we're supposed to tell you that you should only use original manufacturers inks and that the world could end if you use compatibles. The truth is, compatible inks and toners can save you a lot of money in the short term, and unless you're very unlucky, they won’t cause any problems with your printer. The only time we would strongly recommend using original inks or toners is if you need the quality of your print to be sharp – compatible inks aren't as good as originals for quality but they do come close. The Originals or Compatibles article in our Resources section explains more about using compatibles and the truth behind the myths of warranty implications etc.

This is a good simple printer with excellent picture quality only issue I have it will not take a USB.

This printer is USB 2.0 compatible but will also work with all other version of USB - when you have a minute call us and we'll go over a few checks with you.
